“Whatever you do in life, bring your passion to it”. Wise words my grandfather would tell me have guided my life and led me to where I am today.

As a kid, school was difficult - near impossible. Lost, confused, the only sure knowledge I had was that where I was supposed to be - wasn’t there. I sat myself down, wondering what I was supposed to be doing. What was I supposed to be doing? More importantly, who was I?

In that moment, lost and uncertain, my grandfather’s words spoke loud and clear: “Whatever you do, bring your passion to it”. What was that passion? What would I do for the rest of my life and never get bored?

Filmmaking.

From that moment, I knew what I had to do. I took it upon myself to study - some days 8 hours a day, on academics that had struck me as impossible before, just for the opportunity to attend a school where I could learn what I dreamed of.

It worked. I was accepted into and graduated from Emerson College. The years of hard work, the years of forcing myself to learn things I saw as a Mount Everest had paid off.
